To Leap or not to Leap
Florida Aquarium, Tampa, FL USA
The Aquarium in downtown Tampa is an incredible place to spend a day. There are tons of awesome exibits to check out, and it is just an incredibly relaxing place. Despite having the name "Florida Aquarium"the building houses mutliple exibits featuring wildlife from various aqautic environments, and a newer exibit called "Journey to Madagascar"which houses all kinds of creatures native to the island, including the iconic Lemurs. These guys are pretty active, or at least they were when I was there, leaping around, and interacting with one another which made them pretty tricky to shoot. On top of that the habitat they are in is filled with trees and branches, surrounded with netting, and separated from the viewing area by glass. Combining all of those elements tends to lead to busy shots, and in kind, this photo originally was full of distractions and generally one that I was unhappy with. So I had to get creative and the blacked out background allowed me to pull out the treasure of the pensive Lemur biting his thumb, pondering the deeper questions of Lemur life, "To Leap or not to Leap."
