Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse
Acadia National Park, Bass Harbor, ME - USA
For me it is always interesting to take a photo of an iconic location such as this. I always wonder before getting there how I am going to take a shot that stands out from the thousands already taken of the same spot. That never lasts very long though, once the excitement of being there actually sets in. Then I just get to be lost in my own world and find beauty there for myself. Shooting at Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse was one of those experiences for me! Even as I lined up shoulder to shoulder with around 30 other photographers, all elbowing their way into their tripod spot as the sun went down, I was free to see the scene through my own lens, and then to process it with my own style. And as it happens, my style - as it has developed to this point, is dominated by HDR landscapes. They continue to be my favorite to shoot and process, and probably the thing I am best at in my photography, or at least the most practiced.
